The Secret in the Library Book

One day, I went to the library and discovered a black box. I went to the horror section to find ghost books. I saw a strange looking book I’ve never seen before. It looked like a normal book but it had hundreds of spikes on it, spider webs everywhere and small skulls attached to it. I decided to open it to see what was inside. I discovered the book was actually a hollow box. I found gold, diamonds, and millions of $100 bills. When I looked closely I saw ghosts, darkness, devils, sharks, snakes, tigers, knives, thieves, Hitler, and psycho ghosts. When I reached for the valuables, all of the evil things I saw came to life and attacked me. I was surrounded by ghosts and dangerous things until I closed the box, and then they all disappeared.

I was terrified of my discovery but at the same time very curious. I didn’t want other people to get hurt so I hid the book that was a box behind bigger books. When I visited the library again I found the book in the same location and I remembered not to open it. I asked the book while it was still closed, “What are you? And how did you get here??” The book replied by sending me a page to read. I read the passage and found out a bad man created the box to store the valuables he stole. When the police arrested him he died in jail and went to hell. He went to hell because he is a thief, he robbed innocent people and jaywalked all the time in the 1900’s. Even though he was a ghost he was still so greedy and missed his valuables, so he and his friends (for example, Hitler) came back to guard the treasure. In case he wasn’t able to guard his box, he put many sharp spikes to protect the valuables. The page also mentioned many people in the past have tried to take the valuables but every time, the possessed objects would attack them. They were not able to fight the ghosts because you can’t kill the dead. The ghosts’ only weakness is light, but when the box is in light it locks up immediately so you can’t get to the treasures.

This was such a cool discovery. I ran to a librarian and I told her about the book that was actually a box. She thought I read too many ghost stories and ignored me. So I found my family and led them to the mysterious box. When they opened it and saw the valuables they became greedy. They did not notice right away all the dangerous things it contained. I tried to warn and stop them but they ignored me. They put their hands inside the box and one by one, ghost, thieves and devils with weapons attacked everyone nearby. I took out the flash light I always have in my pocket and immediately shined the light on them. They backed off and the box locked immediately before they could injure my family.

We realized how dangerous that box was. In order for people to not get hurt, my family and I decided to bury it in the graveyard where it belonged. How can something so valuable be so dangerous? My family was tempted to come up with strategies to retrieve the valuables without getting hurt. My brother, my mom and my dad and I had millions of ideas to outsmart the box, but instead we did not do it. So much can go wrong! We said goodbye to the diamonds, gold, and money and buried it in the graveyard. My family is more valuable than diamonds and millions of dollars that can hurt you. This discovery taught me to appreciate my family, life, and safety.
